Mark Comings at Boom '04
"A physicist, who studied at U.C. Berkeley and Caltech, Mark has been working in the area of fundamental physics for over 20 years. He was recently a senior research scientist focusing on the research and development of new energy technology at the International Space Sciences Organization. To hear him talk you would think he had majored in Literature, but his Science is convincing and only solidifies the consensus that Mark is one interesting guy."

J. Ott, D. McKenna, M. Winkelman, R. Metzner and more from Basel
Two audio files of very groovy lectures by Dennis McKenna are up on Psychonautica, one on 'Psychedelics in basic neuroscience and clinical practise' and another dubbed "bitter brews and other abominations: the use of some little known psychoactive agents."
And the Youtube Psychonaut channel has uploaded a fascinating talk by Sire of Psychonautics and word-weaver extraordinaire, Jonathan Ott, about anahuascas.
Also on the Psychonaut channel is brief video from Micheal Winkelmann, co-editor of the new textbook, Psychedelic Medicine, on the role of psychedelics in human evolution; a sort-of scientific update on Terence McKenna's speculations. And more updated frequently.

Plasma dynamics and the mythology of electricity
This is a really nice doc about the more contemporary models of physics and the current revisions of cosmology. Following the work of David Talbott and a host of advanced astro-physicists, the links between ancient cross-continental mythology and the pervasive, structured energy that comprises the observable universe are explored. Definitely recommended viewing for those interested in physics, electricity or cosmology.

Basel Resolution
The following link is to an image of the resolution signed by a number of attendees of the World Psychedelic Forum in Basel last month. You can copy the image to your desktop so you can magnify it to a readable size. It's a very poignant call for the decriminalization and the legalization of psychedelic substances.

Large-scale working magnet motor
Some blokes from down under cooked up this large scale magnetic free-energy motor that could power a home forever. Will they be killed by assassins hired by oil-moguls like other free-energy inventors before them? We'll just have have to wait and see! (For other cool free-energy magnet tricks check out this post here.)

Make your own magnetic free-energy motor.
Seriously, if you are engineer, aspiring or accomplished, please make one of these. The faster this stuff enters the public arena of attention the better.

Run From The Cure
Rick Simpson cured many cases of terminal cancer and countless other diseases and cell-mutations with hemp oil containing THC. This corroborates with recent lab findings that THC reduces lung cancer by 50%. The hidden story of hemp as medicine is explored by Rick Simpson in this Canadian documentary. If these stories are true (as they seem to be), THC is more of a miracle cure than most of us ever supposed.

Motivation of an Entheogenic Chemist
A paper is online written by prisoner of drug-war, Casey Hardison. Here is the abstract:
Casey Hardison was arrested spring 2004 for the production of psychedelic-type drugs, i.e., LSD, 2C-B and DMT. In the three years since, not one person from ‘authority’ had bothered to ask him what motivated him to synthesise psychedelic drugs. It was as if the a priori assumption that ‘all illegal drugs are bad’ had provided the answer. Hence, the Judge asserted that Hardison did it for “that basest of human emotion, greed” as though the psychospiritual benefits of an alchemical path dedicated to expanding consciousness and personal transformation, through insights integrated into action, upon which he had expounded at great lengths during trial, were some elaborate “portmanteau defence”, just some ruse to get him out of the dock. It was not, it was a committed stand for ‘cognitive liberty’ and for a world full of people who understand the fine line between alone and all one.

mega-mushie!

"A more than 20-kilo (41-lb) mushroom has been picked in a forest in Mexico's southernmost state of Chiapas, university officials said Tuesday."
Full article here.
Before there were trees, before the ancient conifers, cycads, giant ferns and towering horsetails, the land supported forests of 50 foot tall mushrooms. This was not known until recently when a fossil of one such 50 ft tall mushroom was discovered in New England, a rare finding because the fungi do not fossilize easily. I do believe that makes Mario Land real, does it not?
