William Henry - Rick Strassman interview.

In this interview of Rick Strassman by New Age / 2012 spokesman William Henry, the more esoteric aspects of DMT are discussed than Dr. Strassman normally mentions.

Windfall, the psychedelic swamp thing...

I uploaded the issue of Swamp Thing by Alan Moore #43, which is the trippiest psychedelic initiation depiction you ever saw in a comic book.
Very highly recommended. (Thanks to Jeff Whitmore for pointing it out.)
You'll have to enlarge each picture in the series to read it, or download them all and read them from your hard drive when you want.

J. Ott, D. McKenna, M. Winkelman, R. Metzner and more from Basel

Two audio files of very groovy lectures by Dennis McKenna are up on Psychonautica, one on 'Psychedelics in basic neuroscience and clinical practise' and another dubbed "bitter brews and other abominations: the use of some little known psychoactive agents."

And the Youtube Psychonaut channel has uploaded a fascinating talk by Sire of Psychonautics and word-weaver extraordinaire, Jonathan Ott, about anahuascas.

Also on the Psychonaut channel is brief video from Micheal Winkelmann, co-editor of the new textbook, Psychedelic Medicine, on the role of psychedelics in human evolution; a sort-of scientific update on Terence McKenna's speculations. And more updated frequently.

Basel Resolution

The following link is to an image of the resolution signed by a number of attendees of the World Psychedelic Forum in Basel last month. You can copy the image to your desktop so you can magnify it to a readable size. It's a very poignant call for the decriminalization and the legalization of psychedelic substances.

The Revolving Doors of Perception

The weekly podcast show, Psychonautica, will be playing recorded talks from this years Wolrd Psychedleic Forum in Basel. The first one they aired was Michael Horowitz' talk, titled, 'The revolving doors of perception: deconstructing the myths and ambiguities of the psychedelic zeitgeist.'
Highly recommended listening. Michael speculates about the films yet to be made based on the top ten mythic events in modern psychedelic history (events involving Hofmann, Wasson, Huxley, Leary, McKenna and the CIA, JFK, hippies, yippies and ravers).

Terence Mckenna dialogues with Ram Dass & Sasha Shulgin

This 1992 video, called Prague Gnosis, consists of Terence McKenna engaging seven global consciousness thinkers into dialogs: Ram Dass, Angeles Arrien, Kenneth Ring, Rupert Sheldrake, Jill Purce, David White and Alexander Shulgin. In these discussions Terence pokes and prods his esteemed interviewees and their rhetoric in an effort to get them to verbalize the awe and confoundment the way that comes so naturally to him, which is highly amusing.

I particularly recommend the Ram Dass and Sasha Shulgin dialogs.
The chat with Ram Dass (also their first time meeting) was so delightful and it was fascinating to watch them explore topics from such seemingly polar vantage points. The talk with Sasha Shulgin was also good, I only wish it was ten times longer.

The Ram Dass dialogue is the first and is 40 minutes long and the Shulgin dialog begins about 46 minutes into part 2.

Stargates, Water Doors and Wormholes, Oh My!

Steve Willner bestows upon us three new synchromystical mash-up videos in a trilogy called Southland Tales, Sri Yantra and The Butterfly Effect. If you haven't been following The Labyrinth of the Psychonaut saga, I suggesting starting with earlier episodes to have a better grasp of the lingo and synchrodelic esoteria references that comprise these transdimensional revampings of history and pop culture.

Motivation of an Entheogenic Chemist

A paper is online written by prisoner of drug-war, Casey Hardison. Here is the abstract:
Casey Hardison was arrested spring 2004 for the production of psychedelic-type drugs, i.e., LSD, 2C-B and DMT. In the three years since, not one person from ‘authority’ had bothered to ask him what motivated him to synthesise psychedelic drugs. It was as if the a priori assumption that ‘all illegal drugs are bad’ had provided the answer. Hence, the Judge asserted that Hardison did it for “that basest of human emotion, greed” as though the psychospiritual benefits of an alchemical path dedicated to expanding consciousness and personal transformation, through insights integrated into action, upon which he had expounded at great lengths during trial, were some elaborate “portmanteau defence”, just some ruse to get him out of the dock. It was not, it was a committed stand for ‘cognitive liberty’ and for a world full of people who understand the fine line between alone and all one.

Christian Ratsch - 50 Years of Mushroom Experience

Here is a video of Christian Ratsch giving a casual and deeply inspired talk at a trance party . Ratsch is the world's foremost scholar/researcher of shamanic plants and cultures. Author several phenomenal books including the 1000 page tome, The Encyclopedia of Psychoactive Plants. I had the pleasure of socializing with him (and other luminaries) in 2000 at Palenque, Mexico and I can attest to his psychedelic charm. Nice storyteller, too. I highly recommend the earlier, more formal presentation, 'Psychoactivity: The Fountain of Culture'. This newer video is in German with English subtitles. Enjoy!

Psyentific American

On the heels of David Jay Brown's recent in depth article about current medical psychedelic research projects published in Scientific American, the prestigious science magazine now has a brief yet immensely favorable article about Sasha Shulgin and the truth about entheogens.

"It is like opening a door to a hallway," he says, "that has unopened doors for its entire length, and behind every door is a world with which you are totally unfamiliar."

Times Article on Medical Psychedelic Research

Positive mainstream press on psychedelic science resurgence and the Basel conference.

Could Ecstasy, LSD and magic mushrooms one day be legitimate prescription medicines? It sounds unlikely, but doctors and researchers in the US and across Europe believe it is possible and that new science will prove the case.
